Ingredients
Noi arisi/Broken rice- 1 cup(Wash and soak for 10 min)Onion- 1 chopped
Green chilli- 1 slit
Curry leaves- few
Ginger- 1" chopped
Hing- a pinch
Mustard seeds-1/3 tsp
Kadala parupuBengal gram dal- 1/2 tsp
Oil- 2 tsp
Water- 2 cup
Method
1.In a pressure cooker heat oil and add mustard seeds,kadala parupu and curry leaves.2.Then add chopped onions,green chilli,ginger,hing and salt. Now pour water and allow it to boil for 4-5 mins. Add rice and close the lid.
3.Pressure cook for 2 whistle. Upma is ready.
Note
1.Adding is spoon ghee is optional.2.You can also do this upma with "Idly Rava". It wil be good.
3.If u dont have broken rice, Just one grind the whole rice grain in a mixer.
