Sundal Chaat/Yellow peas chaat

Ingredients


Yellow whole peas- 1 cup
Onions-1 finely chopped
Tomato- finely chopped(optional)
Sweet Tamarind Chutney- 1/2 cup
Black salt- pinch
Amchur powder/Dry mango powder- pinch
Chaat masala-pinch
Sev/Ompodi- 1/4 cup

Sweet tamarind chutney


Tamarind paste- 1/2 cup
Jaggery-1/4 cup
Chilli powder-1/4 tsp
Salt- pinch
Sugar-pinch
Black salt-pinch
Amchur powder- pinch
Chaat masala- pinch
Cumin powder-1/4 tsp

Method

1.In a pan add tamarind paste along with 1/2 cup water. Add all the above ingredients and allow it to boil till it reaches little thick consistency.

Main Method

1.Soak yellow peas for 3-4 hrs and pressure cook with salt(2-3whistle)
2.In a bowl first add cooked peas. Apply Sweet chutney above it.
3.Now just sprinkle black salt,amchur powder,chaat masala. Sprinklesome chopped onions and tomato.
4.Again pour some sweet chutney.Last garnish with some sev on top of the layer.
Home made Sundal chaat is ready.
