Onion ullundhu chutney

Ingredients


Onion
1 Big
Tomato
1 small
Urad dal
2 Tbsp
Red chillis
2
Tamarind
Small piece
Coconut
⅓ cup
Oil
1 Tbsp
Salt


For tempering

Oil
1 Tsp
Mustard seeds
½ Tsp
Curry leaves
few
Broken urad dal
½ Tsp
Asafoetida
Pinch

Method

1.Chop the onions,tomato and coconut.

2.In a kadai heat oil and add 2 Tbsp of urad dal and fry until it reaches golden color.

3.Add the dry red chillis,onion,tomato,tamarind and coconut. saute well until onion becomes translucent  
                                                     

4.Cool down and grind in a mixer. Add little bit of water and required salt while grinding.

5.Meanwhile, heat oil and add all ingredients listed in tempering. Shift to ur chutney.

6.Mix well and serve with pongal,idly,dosa. Also goes well with yellow rice(thalicha sadham). Try it and taste it ! We had with pongal.



Note
1.If can be served little bit watery also. Taste good.
2.Urad dal should be roasted nicely.
