Ingredients:
Mutton- 1/2 kgOnion-4 (2 small and 2 big)
Tomato-2 Big
Ginger garlic paste-1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Chilli powder-3 tsp
Mutton masala-1 1/2
Pepper powder-1 tsp
Salt
Oil-3 tsp
Fennel seed/Sombu-1 tsp
Pattai-1 no
Bay leaf-2 no
Curry leaves & Coriander leaves.
Method:
1.Remove fat skin from mutton and clean 5 times by adding 1 tsp turmeric powder.2.In a pressure cooker add mutton,chopped onions,chopped tomato,ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder,chilli powder and needed water. Pressure cook 6-8 whistle or until mutton get cooked like sponge.
3.In a kadai add oil and splutter some sombu,patta and bay leaf. Now add 1/2 chopped onions and curry leaves.Saute till onion gets golden brown.
4.Add cooked mutton from pressure cooker and fry the mutton. In this stage you can add mutton masala,salt and pepper powder.Fry the mutton till the water oozes out.
5.Add the coriander leaves and serve.Since my coriander leaves got finished i did not add. Yummy mutton chops is ready to serve with hot steamed white rice/Boiled egg/Rasam/Mutton kuruma. Enjoy your full Sunday meals with filling mutton recipe's.
Note:
Do not add salt while washing mutton. Same way do not add salt while pressure cook. Always add salt at the last stage, because salt does not allow mutton meat to cook completely.Adding more onions will gives you good gravy with taste.Dont forget to add pepper at last.Its a classic touch for the meal.
