paneer mirch masala



Ingredients                                                                                                       

15 cubes of paneer/cottage cheese(i used homemade paneer)
2 green chilli which are not so hot(i took one of jalapeno long variety)
1 big onion roughly chopped
1 big tomato chopped
1 Tsp Ginger julienne
1 Tsp Garlic finely chopped
1 Tsp Jeera/cumin seeds
1/2 Tsp Garam masala
1/2 Tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 Tsp kashmiri chili powder
1/4 Tsp cumin powder
1/4 Tsp Coriander powder
1/4 Tsp pepper powder
1 Tsp kasuri methi
1/4 Cup Fresh cream/heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup water
2 Tsp oil
Sugar 1/2 Tsp
Salt for taste

Method

1.Heat 1 tsp of oil in a wide wok/kadai. Add chopped garlic,onions and tomato. Saute well until onion becomes translucent.Switch off the flame and allow it to cool completely. Then blend finely in a mixer jar.
2.Cut the chilli to three equal halves. De-seed them and keep aside.Cube the paneer and allow it to soak in warm water.
3.In the same kadai heat 1 tsp of oil and add jeera and ginger followed by cut green chilli.Saute well for 2 mins.Then add grounded masala and cook for 2-3 mins.
3.Now lets add all the powder one bye one. Garam masala,turmeric powder,chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder and pepper. Give a nice stir. This stage add required salt.
4.Add fresh cream,milk and required water. Stir gently and allow it to cook for another 5 mins.
5.Add soaked paneer and finally add kasuri methi and 1/2 tsp of sugar. Let it sit for another 3-4 mins and switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with roti


Notes

1.Sugar is optional.
2.My chilli was so hot I de-seeded them.
3.You can also use bajji chilli or any varieties as you wish. I have tried few variety chill all were tasting same and yummy.
