Gokulashtami is nearing. Here is the murukku recipe.

1/2 cup urad dal
1 tsp Sesame seeds
1 Tsp cumin seeds(optional)
Pinch of hing/asefotida
4 Tbsp Butter
1 Tsp of salt
1 cup(220 ml) of water
Oil for deep fry
2.Roast the rice flour for 2 mins.
3.Melt the butter.
4.Boil water by adding salt to it.
5.In a wide bowl first put rice flour. Add melted butter,gounded urad dal,sesame seeds,jeera and hing. Add hot water little by little slowly and mix them. The dough should be soft and little bit loose.
6.Take the murukku press add some dough to it. Insert the achu as you wish. I added single star achu.
7.Gently press the dough to make chakras as shown in pic.
8.Heat oil in medium high flame. Once oil is heated put the pressed murukku's and fry until it reach light golden color. I prepared 6 murukku;s in a batch.
9.Take out from oil and place them on paper towels. Let it sit for 5 mins and then ready to eat moru moru awesome murkku. try this murukku . you will enjoy it
