Mutton Kuruma

Ingredients

Mutton- 1/ 2 kg
Coconut milk- 1 cup
Potato- 1 chopped
Onion- 2 small chopped
Tomato-1 big chopped
Ginger garlic paste- 1tbsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Chilli powder- 2 tsp
Coriander leaves -few for garnishing

For seasoning

Fennel seeds/Sombu- 1/2 tsp
Patta- 1
Onions- few
Curry leaves-few

Method

1.Clean the mutton with turmeric powder 5 times.
2.In a pressure cooker add onion,tomato,mutton,ginger garlic paste,turmeric powder and chilli powder. Add required water and close the lid. Pressure cook for 7-8 whistle/until mutton gets cooked.
2.Now open the lid and add chopped potato and coconut milk.Check for salt and allow it to boil till potato gets cooked.
3.In a pan heat oil and add the ingredients mentioned for seasoning. Fry till onion becomes golden color.
4.Transfer seasoning into the boiling kuruma. Allow it to boil for another 5 mins. Ready to serve.
5.Garnish with coriander leaves.

Note:

Do not add salt while washing mutton. Same way do not add salt while pressure cook. Always add salt at the last stage, because salt does not allow mutton meat to cook completely.
