Jeera rice/Ghee rice

Ingredients:(Serves:4)

Preparation time- 5 min
Cooking time- 20 min


Basmati rice- 2 cups
Shajeera- 1 Tbsp
Ghee- 2Tbsp
Onion - 1 small sliced(Completely optinal)
Oil-1 tbp
Salt
Water-3 cups

Method:

1.Soak basmati rice for 1 hour(if possible) or 5-10 min and drain the water completly.
2.In a pressure cooker add ghee and oil. After ghee heats add shajeera and onion.Saute for a min.
3.Add basmati rice,salt and 3 cups of water.Cook in simmer for 20 min.min. Jeera rice is ready. Serve with dal tadka/Dal.

Note:

Don't allow to whistle.Cook in simmer for getting long grains.
Same process can be done in electric rice cooker.
Shajeera can be replaced by normal jeera/Cumin seeds. Still,shajeera tastes good.
This is also called as Ghee rice
